We try to give back to the community as much as we can. In pursuit of these goals, we've decided to streamline our efforts to cultivate innovation in our community into a streamlined program. Our most succesful project to date is our MCL keystone charity program, where we donate manufacturing resources to either startups or individuals who either have a novel and very cool idea, product, or part, and can not otherwise afford full- rate manufacturing services. If you would like to take advantage of this program, please read on for details.
Eligibility Criteria
The primary criterion is the component(s) or piece(s) need to be either financially unobtainable or physically unobtainable (i.e. doesn't exist) for the applicant, and must be clearly noninfringing on any patent and clearly legal to manufacture without any special permit.
This program is targeted at startups and individuals based in and around the North Carolina area, though exceptions can and have been made. For companies, we like to see either very interesting or novel products, or impactful missions. For individuals, we have historically accomodated a large number of use cases, time and resource permitting.
Application Process
Our evaluation process is relaxed. We will reach out with a response within a week of application, and typical awardees will be slotted into the production schedule within 10 business days of application, with manufacture dates being flexible based on current load. Typically 5-8 projects will be selected yearly.
If you want to apply you just need to fill our a simple contact form which includes a basic description of you, your team (if applicable), your idea or project, and a brief summary of why your idea or project qualifies.
